During the morning session, we were able to find out different learning styles of our faculty. We spend so much time trying to learn the styles of our students that we seem to forget that it is the teachers who also have different learning styles that they need to tap into. It was also quite reflective in that we need to pay attention to all of our students from different perspectives.
It is very important to reflect on individual practice and learn that one's shortcomings may be developed and enhanced through someone else. Where we may not be successful with a student, someone else may be. Remember, we all have varied learning styles and (as much as we may not want to admit) some limitations. This is a point that hits home for me.
Moving forward, I need more opportunity to force myself to step back and reflect. I guess I really need to start taking some of my own advice that I give to others.
